Mechanical Fitter - Full Time Perm Position

The Role:

Join our skilled team at Bega on the Sapphire Coast of NSW, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring our production equipment is safe, reliable and ready to support daily manufacturing operations. Working in a collaborative and safety-focused environment, you’ll contribute to continuous improvement, operational readiness and the overall performance of our site. 

Our Ridge street site in Bega NSW services many customers in a contract manufacturing capacity focused on packaged, natural and processed cheeses. These include the renowned Bega cheese blocks- mild, tasty, and vintage, shredded and cubed cheese, natural slices, parmesan, colby, mozzarella and burger cheese slices.

Responsibilities: 

• Complete preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance to maximise equipment safety, quality and reliability 

• Provide breakdown support to production teams to minimise downtime and maintain output 

• Capture work history and raise work requests using the CMMS (MEX) 

• Work safely within the Clearance to Work Framework, ensuring all tasks meet OH&S and quality expectations 

• Support new equipment installations, providing technical input as part of operational readiness teams 

About You 

• Certificate III qualification Fitting and Machining

• Strong commitment to safety, quality and reliability in a manufacturing environment 

• Skilled in problem-solving, fault-finding and contributing to reliability improvement initiatives 

• Reliable, punctual and confident using maintenance systems such as CMMS (MEX) 

• Experience in food manufacturing environment is highly desirable 

• Willing to work Fri-Mon – day shift
